  1. Reversible: This means that both sides of the cutting board can be used. It allows for one side to be used for certain types of foods (like raw meats) and the other for different types (such as vegetables), aiding in food safety and hygiene.

  2. End Grain: Refers to the orientation of the wood fibers in the board. In an end grain cutting board, the wood fibers run vertically with respect to the cutting surface. When you cut on an end grain board, the knife blade goes between the fibers rather than cutting across them. This design is kinder to knives, as it reduces dulling and minimizes cut marks on the board. End grain boards are often more durable and capable of self-healing to some extent, meaning the fibers can close back up after being cut.
