However, according to the maker, this plant does indeed have therapeutic properties, and it has a medicinal taste. We don't recommend drinking Honest John's sarsaparilla bitters straight from the glass, hoping to cure some mysterious ailment, but we can confirm that they have a powerful presence in gin-based cocktails.
